My first attempt at doing this sort of thing so comments, criticisms and advice is more than welcome. I wanted the icon to stand out :) ....

I actually really like it. Im not much of a fan of selective coloring (not because I hate it, but because it has been done sooooo many times---usually with crappy results lol), but I do like this one. Something about the overall photo just asks for it to be processed that way. Well done!

Likewise I think this was done in good taste. :judge: :judge: :judge:

I think it's a matter of personal taste. I don't do selective coloring because it has been so overdone, especially in wedding photography. But in addition, I just don't find a compelling reason for it except in advertising and marketing, which it is sometimes used to good effect to focus attention on a particular detail. You executed it very well in this photo, and if you like it, that's all that really matters. I know a lot of people (i.e., customers) seem to like it. I don't know many professional photographers who share the enthusiasm.

I can't help thinking this photo would be better just a little wider. The phone box seems squashed on the side of the picture and the road is cut off on the other side. Other than that it's pretty good. I'm not a fan of selective colour though.

I like the concept but I agree that the phone booth is a little crowded. Nice work in the color edit!
