Hi,
This my first successful (in the fact that I actually got a usable shot!) using a long exposure. I would love a critique please to try and improve my technique. Thanks.

"10" in my book, love it.  How long did  you have the shutter open?

Well it worked out for you.  Was this a Lee big stopper?

Unfortunately I can't afford a Big stopper at the moment but it's on my Christmas list!
I used a cheap set of ND filters, a UV filter and a CPL I got from amazon for about £10. I think I used a ND2, 4 and 8 to get the shot and my lens was about twice as long! This had a serious drawback in that I couldn't shoot at 18mm because I was getting loads of vignetting and I couldn't easily move position.

I was going to say that a little wider lens would be nice.  Funny structure on that pier!

It's such an interesting structure, you're right. Luckily it's only a 20 minute walk from my home so trying to beat the sun rise is a little easier!
I took one the day before from the other side. I think there's still a lot more to shoot here, it's just a shame I can't actually get on it.

Very catchy, I really like the last shot you uploaded too.  I bet that would look good B&W too.

Thanks,  I was thinking about doing a B&W version. I think the weather's going to be crap tomorrow anyway so I'll have something to do!
