Critique-Dodge&Burn : Dry okra (gombo)

6 years 7 months ago #539267 by lesauf
Hi everyone,

I am learning Dodge & burn techniques. I started with my palm leaf and now I continue with a pair of dry Okra vegetable I shot some months ago (Yay! Non-destructive editing and asset management !)

Personally I am not very impressed by the picture, so I would like to know first if it is even possible to improve it using  Dodge & Burn. I post the color version so you can see (not Dodged & burned).

Also, about the composition, since the one on the right is a little bit out of focus, I thought of erasing it. What do you think ?

I prefer the color version. For a B&W conversion I think you need subjects with more contrast....

Why so serious?

A bit sharp, but not a bad edit! The B&W works a bit better for me.

Not a bad edit at all. I like the B&W one.
