Now, we can't identify whether is it smoke or clouds. Beautiful shot but saddening!

Very clever. Well seen.

And not necessarily sad. Those cooling towers are putting out water vapor, I believe. The "smoke stack" may be doing the same, or at least scrubbed emissions. Expecially since the plume doesn't go very far. Without knowing precisely what you're looking at, it's kinda hard to draw any conclusions.

The range of tones of the clouds is very impressive.

I'm in agreement with Gary. Don't know if the cooling towers are doing harm. But if I was in the area I'd certainly enjoy shooting them.
My only suggestion would be to reduce the contrast. While this will reduce some drama they could be made more believable.

It wasn't meant to be believable. It was an apocalyptic look due to harsh light.

Nuclear reactor's short and wide evacuators do not pollute
as only water vapour is ejected from there — correctly na-
med cloud factory. I am not too sure about the high and slick
ones though.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

I'm not all that comfortable with over processed shots. I often wonder what the scene really looks like.

I don't think that this is over-processed. I like it; the B&W worked well here.

I like the first one the best, that's a cool photo. The second one for me is very contrasty and looks like the light was harsh, which could work for this type subject but I think I'd like it better not quite so harsh and contrasty. Great seeing and composing this scene and subject.

Yeah! Reduce the contrast a bit so it wouldn't look so unnatural.

That was the whole point, to make it look unnatural. It's not worth seeing otherwise. Bland as they come as normal.

Well, we should be cautious with our suggestions because all this is an interpretation. There isn't a correct or perfect answer. What some of us are suggesting is the cloud structure, as nice as it is, could render many more tone and structure while maintaining the inky blacks. Along with teasing out an abundance of tones in the shadow area's. All of that requires a few skills in Post Processing. The amateur technique of pushing up contrast while lowering blacks leaves much to be desired.

I have learned so much, from these forums, by listening to our photographic friends.

I welcome all comments and suggestions. You never know when someone can point you in a direction you hadn't thought of. I could have done a normal rendering but then the scene would have been blah. I was going for a more sinister feeling. Some don't get it. That's fine. I showed it more to get a chuckle over the title than anything else.

Yeah! The caption is indeed funny. Reminded of the Chocolate Factory.
