Needs a bit more contrast & there's too much sky in the frame...(IMHO that is)

I agree with Scott, needs more contrast and you need to balance the burned areas with the non-burned halo around the tree. I think you could crop in a bit and not have to burn all that. A good rule of thumb for B&W is there should be a clean clear white and a deep rich black some where in the image.

:agree: with Scott and MJ both.. about the contrast and especially about the halo effect around the tree.. actually, for me, it's not the amount of sky in the image, it's the quality.. the sky is somewhat flat and uneventful - if it were full of stormy clouds (drama), a big sky would work nicely..
