Who's using a canon 70-200mm 2.8 lens? What do you think of this lens and it's weight. I'm using a canon 5D mk ii and I want to get the 70-200mm and I am wondering how heavy this gear will be altogether hehe...

My brother uses this lens on a 1D with a Metz. It is heavy, but besides the speed of the lens the quality of the glass is worth the price and weight. He has used this in a few weddings that we have done together.

Personally I don't own the lens. My suggestion would be to rent it and then see if what you think. You may be surprised by your own answer. I recently went with a Tokina 28-105 3.5 over the Canon 2.8 after using the Tokina in the studio for a week. The Tokina was amazingly crisp and I loved the way it handled and felt. Not to mention lighter and 1/3 the cost. As long as customers are returning with check books.....My brother on the other hand owns strictly canon lenses, but his studio runs at a higher profit margin than mine.

In life there have always been those who make fire; but most just sit around the fire and enjoy the warmth. A great mind absent of action is waste.
