Would you consider the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art over the Canon 85mm f/1.2?  Kind of tempted with the price difference.

Let me know what you think.

I'd consider the Sigma in a heartbeat....

Why so serious?

As much as I'm all about sticking with Canon for  Canon, Sigma has done a very good job in recent years with stepping up their quality.   That Sigma would be good choice.

Over the f/1.2? Never. That lens is unique and has character that doesn't exist anywhere else.

I wish Nikon had something comparable.

That said, the Sigma is highly regarded.  But it's an apples and oranges comparison, IMO.

came in to say something similar. If you want to get out of Canon, then sure, the Art line of lenses have beautiful rendering with a price point that is reasonable.

That said, the Canon is really
unique and it’s one of those lenses that really stands out.  Also, the art lenses are pretty dang heavy relative to the competition

If Sony had anything comparable to that Canon, I’m quite sure it would be too expensive for me. Lol Sony is def not in the same price range
