Canon M6 Mark II vs Sony A6600

Hey guys, I'm after a small APC camera that I can use as a back up camera and have narrowed my search down to the Canon M6 Mark II and Sony A6600.   Both are kind of close on price.  You do get more MP with the Canon, and it's priced less.  You don't get any IBIS with the Canon and need to depend on lens stabilization?

You mind me asking which you would go after?

My Camera Bag:

Canon 7D | 50mm f/1.2 | 17-40mm f/4 | 70-200mm f/2.8 | 320EX | 580EXII

Looks like you are familiar with Canon gear so I would think it would be a no brainer.

Color science is better with the Canon, autofocus is better with the Sony

I would suggest the Canon M6 Mark II. Better camera, better price and you have familiarity with the brand.

Not better, they match up well. The canon isn't weather sealed, has no onboard flash while the Sony has a higher ISO range and much longer battery life.
Those points alone could sell the Sony.

I would go for the M6, but honestly don't care about onboard flash myself.

The a6600 isn't technically out yet.  Either way, I would go with the M6.

Canon 7D, 15-85mm, 18-55mm, 70-200mm, 100mm Macro, Sigma 120-300mm, Speedlite 430EX II

A bad day at the race track is better than a good day in the office

LOL funny how that works when the gear isn't even out yet.

5D mark II gripped | Canon 100L | Canon 85 1.8 | Sigma 50 1.4 | Tamron 28-75 2.8 | 580ex II | 430ex II x 2 |
