EF-M adapter to EF-S?

Hello! :)

I´m pretty much new to photography and cameras and I had an old t2i/550D lying there and decided to pick it back and re-take photography. So I bought some lenses which were great but amongst one of those, I picked one of those super-cheap Neewer  35mm F / 1,7  just for practice on a 35mm.

The thing is that the mount is an EF-M for the EOS-M series and mine is an EF-S mount, is there any adapter, mount, hack or anything to put a smaller lens like this on the Rebel 550D? or should I ask my money back? :P

Thanks!

No.

Those lenses render a smaller image (for a smaller sensor), and there is no value in trying to put them onto a body with a larger sensor.

that really does not make any sense. The lens is designed  for aps-c cameras of which both the 550D and M series are.. EF-M lens are designed for mirror less cameras and have a different flange distance so can’t be fitted to cameras with an EF-S or EF mount, there are no adapters. EF-S and EF lenses can be fitted to M series cameras via an adapter.

We need a sticky for each camera forum that states that you can not put mirrorless lenses on DSLRs. This question seems to come up weekly.

AFAICT the OP asked about an EF-M lens, and putting that on an APS-C body. That's the question I answered. The answer is still "can't be done".

Yes, that lens also comes in versions for EF-S, Sony, etc. But that wasn't what I read in the post. If I misunderstood, then my mistake.

only you didn’t answer the question in your original post. Even in your reply to my comment, you suggest that Canon M bodies are not aps-c which gives a very unclear answer to the original post. To be clear both the 550D and all M bodies are aps-c, EF-M lenses will not work with any Canon body that have an EF or EF-S mount because of the flange difference. There are no adapters available  to mount  M lenses to any Canon body.
