Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 vs 28-70mm f/2

There is a huge price difference between these, the 28-70mm doesn't even have image stabilization.  But you have the monstrous f/2 aperture.

Have you bought the 28-70mm or know why else is there such a larger price difference between these?   Seems if you spring for the 28-70mm you lose a little width, gain a little light performance, but lose some with the lack of stabilization. Seems like a wash?

A constant f2 zoom is pretty unheard of for full frame cameras. That's why they can charge so much for it. It's a really unique lens, whereas everyone does a 24-70mm f2.8. As for the stabilization, I imagine if you can afford this lens, you're probably using a body that is stabilized anyway, like the R5 or R6.

Putting aside image stabilization, that 28-70mm is going to be much better at low light

Canon 7D, 15-85mm, 18-55mm, 70-200mm, 100mm Macro, Sigma 120-300mm, Speedlite 430EX II
