finding drivers to down load an old cannon

1 year 1 day ago #707817 by Pilotshark
So I have an old Canon PowerShot S200 Digital ELPH that I am trying to get some pictures (forgotten I had) off it and onto a windows 10 pro system.
I found that Cannon has no drivers for this, nor does windows, apparently.

So does anyone know of what I might be able to do?

Thank You

So after so many years of doing this or that and life itself getting in my way, I am now at the point where just slowing down and doing things I have put off I have concluded that its time to become creative and do what I want.
Thanks for giving me a place to get started. :-)

Just an update on this, I have called and talked with Cannon support and pretty much said it's too old, and we don`t care about how you will get your pictures off it. Oh, the support person (who seems to care) said, well, some companies could help, but I can not give them to you cause they are not Cannon.
So my search goes on.

Thanks for the suggestion, as I have one on the way now. A universal one that should take care of all my needs in the future.

To transfer pictures from Canon PowerShot s200 to PC you need
to get an inexpensive USB memory card reader because Canon
PowerShot s200 will not connect directly by USB to a computer.
You can thus get any USB memory card reader to transfer your files.

not sure if this is the same as my 20D was but I had to go into the menus and change a setting

In the camera's menu change Communication type to PTP. Once I did this my old 20D connected right up and I was able to pull off my images. Hope this helps.
