What is a Canon 55-250mm lens used for?

Well first off is this a good lens to have?  I found one pretty cheap ($100) and curious, what would you use this lens for?  250mm is a long distance for nature photography right?  Or is this considered a kit lens?

Really at the end of the day, I'm curious most if this is worth getting?

Thank you

G'day Liem

You are not indicating what lens/es that you have at the moment, nor what sort of images you are seeking to take - so to answer your Q is a bit difficult

Can you assist with telling us some of the above and maybe our answers will be enough to satisfy you

Hope this helps

It's and EF-S lens and yes, a kit lens, depending on what kit you got.  Being a crop, gives you decent reach.  Better than the previous zoom that was used, and pretty good for the price point.

I have this lens. It's decent. I usually do landscape shots and buildings so I don't really have much use for it. Tbh I bought it just to try it out so I've only used it a handful of times. I don't have much experience with these type of lenses and I don't have anything to compare it to so all I can say is it seems to do what it's supposed to well enough.

Hey there, you could use it for portraits, but it may not be the greatest quality being that it's a "kit" lens that's included with your Canon camera when you buy it new depending on the package.  I have this lens for when I don't want to lug around my Tamron 18-270.
