Canon 90D shutter count

Finding out the Canon 90D shutter count is a PITA  Tried just about every Windows option there is and not one of them work. I've decided to sell my 90D and the first question everyone asks is, "what's the shutter count?"

Why does Canon make this so difficult? Seems like such a simple thing to do.

Yeah I don't blame you.  I just made the jump to R platform 7 months ago.

That said, to find the shutter count on a Canon 90D, you'll need to use a third-party tool or software since Canon was lame in the construction and the camera does not provide this information directly in the menu (baffled at they why with this). Here's a general method to check the shutter count:
  1. Take a new photo: Insert a memory card into your Canon 90D (seems pretty obvious, but just saying) and take a new photo in JPEG format. Make sure the image quality is set to Large/Fine.

  1. Transfer the photo to your computer: Connect your camera to the computer using a USB cable or use a card reader to transfer the photo you just took. (honestly doesn't make a difference how you get it there)

  1. Use a shutter count tool or software: There are various online tools and software available to check the shutter count. Some popular options include:
  • EOSInfo (Windows): This software is designed specifically for Canon cameras. Download and install it on your computer, then follow the instructions provided by the software to check your shutter count.
  • ShutterCount (Mac): This paid software is available in the Mac App Store. Download and install it, then follow the instructions to check your camera's shutter count. ***I know you said you have Windows, but you might know someone with a Mac and run this quick to get the shutter count***
[/list]

EOSinfo didn't work. Anyway it doesn't matter any more since the camera has since been sold.

Surprised this was so difficult to get access too.  I see you have a Sony, did you jump from Canon to Sony or had you always been Canon and Sony?

Was Canon for years. Switched to Sony in October last year. Sony body and Sigma lenses.
