Photomatix Pro 4

My work computer is old, running XP media version with 2G ram. Can anyone tell me if I have enough to run Photomatix Pro 4 software?

Win Xp is a 32 bit operating system. Is Photomatix Pro 4 64bit? If so it won't run. You do have a fair amount of memory but your CPU might be a bit slow.

I moved your thread to the computer room. :)

Don't pi$$ me off, I am running out of room to store the bodies...

I think you can download a trial version and try it....

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

XP 64-bit is very rare. Chances are you have 32-bit, therefor Photomatix probably will not work on your machine.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Thank you Dori. I can't even tell you whether it's a 32 or 64 bit. ( I'm an old computer dinosaur! ) I was more concerned about the RAM, since I did read that the software was compatable with XP. I stopped in to Office Depot to read the specs, but they didn't have it there.

Darrell, Thanks for the reply. I saw that the trial was available, but I don't go online with my work computer.

About 1/3 of the way down this page is an explanation of how to determine what your system is:

Thank you Baydream...I just went in and checked, and it is a 64 X2 dual core processor...does that mean it's a 64 bit?

Should be. I would download the trail version and see if it will run (I think it puts a watermark on your photo so use copies to test).
Check the options available here
www.hdrsoft.com/download.html

XP is limited to 3GB and many old ones (like my desktop) can not handle more than 2GB. My Corel software is dog slow on my desktop but zips on my laptop (6GB) with Win 7. Not sure how this software will run (you may look at Essential 3 and Pro 4). I may try the trial version on the desktop for kicks, then on my laptop.

If you can't download, here is the order page for a disc

If you want to download to an online computer and then load to an off-line, here is the ticket

Thanks again, Baydream! I clicked on your link, and read what I needed to know. As to the RAM, it says that 2g is needed, but advised more. My question is answered!

If you try to download and you are not running 64-bit, it will give you a msg.on install. Both Essentials 3 and Pro 4 have 32-bit versions.
