Monitor Advice

2 years 4 months ago #675025 by Lior Yaakobi
I'm building a photo-editing computer (~$2000 without the monitor) and I'm really struggling with the monitor.
I currently have (with my old desktop) a Dell U2415 monitor.
I was looking at several monitors:
1. BenQ PD3200U 32" - price is not bad ($650) but I'm afraid 32" is too big?
2. BenQ SW271 - 27" - I like the size, great reviews, but it's not cheap ($1100)
3. ViewSonic VP3268-4K PRO
If anyone is familiar with these monitors I would love to hear. I would also like to know if the SW271 is that good (comparing to the other two) that it's worth the price (almost double the price)
Thank you!

Unless you're a Colorati, those BenQs are overpriced. And no, 32" is not too big for everyone.

That said, start out with a decent ViewSonic (not that one), but more importantly, a colorimeter. Use it, and train yourself to recognize proper color. At some point you may decide you need a whiz-band monitor, but you may also find that it's not a requirement.
