Downloaded files - do you need to keep them?

I'm having such the worst brain fart right now.  If you have downloaded files, for example plugins for Final Cut, that are already installed.

Do you need to keep them in the download folder?  Or can I delete to free up hard drive space?

I don't keep any of that stuff since it is so easily downloaded
when needed.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

No, they are not required for the software to run.

However: if you ever have to reinstall, or need to go back to an older version for some reason (an update has a bug that interferes with work) it can be handy to keep the installation files around.

Suggest a USB flash drive for storage. Inexpensive, long lasting. And you can always repurpose it should you decide otherwise.

Or just delete the files and presume they'll always be available (which isn't true...).

Good to know, awesome, thank you.  I just ordered a USB flash drive on Amazon.
