Can additional memory be added after 2020 iMac purchase?

Apple overcharges for memory and newer computers you couldn't upgrade memory after you purchased the machine.  Has that changed?  I would rather save a few bucks, and upgrade after.

That's the computer I'm looking at.

Thank you.

No problem, Peter, I did it too… though it is
not well illustrated in the link you posted.

But I also got a 1TB SSD in there that is not
easy to set in… better let them do it.

Hello,
Yes, you can do up-gradation. The system upgrades, i.e., RAM and SSD, will speed up your system. However, Apple is charging $600 for 32GB total, $1000 to upgrade to 64GB, and $2600 for 128GB total RAM.
