Are there recommendations for good freebe registry cleaners and uninstallers that clean up all stuff?

I would highly recommend checking out www.glaryutilities.com I have used their free program on several of my computers. It is free and it cleans or repairs system problems. Great product and it really is free.

I too like the glaryutilities program, as far as a free program.

I'm not sure about those registry cleaners out there. I have been having tons of computer problems after using one that supposedly repairs errors.

I recently bought a new laptop and it came with McAfee. Now I have never used McAfee before, I've heard bad stories about their anti-Virus programs. Well, so far I am liking this new program they have, it even does a complete cleaning of files.

Be careful with those freebe programs. A lot of them corrupt your computer and or steal valuable information.

spyBot search & destroy is a good, trusted free anti-malware program thats been around a long time, not sure if it cleans the registry or not though. I also use AVG free for anti virus.

You have been given some interesting suggestions, but I agree with Clarinetjewel the most. Be very careful about doing anything with or to the registry. I live in Arizona and often listen to "Computer Corner" on KTAR radio in Phoenix, AZ; they work with and for DataDoctors.Com/radio. I believe it was Ken Coleman, the radio show host, who described taking a brand new computer and installing Windows 7 and then used "DoubleMySpeed" internet software. This pristine computer with no viruses, or even a chance of getting a virus, was diagnosed with hundreds of problems with the registry!

A better solution, or partial solution, for a slow computer is to look at the number of processes listed in the "Windows Task Manager." (I still have Windows XP Pro) Look carefully at the list of processes; if you have more than 30 to 40 with no applications running, that is a big reason your computer is running slow. Carefully look at each one you do no recognize as important and delete those seldom or never used. I have done this and it really does help; but be careful not to delete critical OS processes. (Get some additional guidance here, as I am not a compute expert.)

Also, Norton Tech Support, all the way from India did help me also, since I have Norton Internet Security 2010 installed on my computer.

Hope this helps you, and others!
