Grain?

I keep getting grain in my pictures. How can I get rid of them? Am I doing something wrong when I take the pictures? Is there a way I can edit the grain out?

Grain is from high ISO settings or are you getting noise ? This is also from high ISO settings. Grain is generally from high ISO film though due to the size of the chemical structure of the emulsion which is not the case with digital. Check your ISO setting on your camera and lower it to see if that cures the problem or use the "HIGH ISO NOISE REDUCTION' software in the camera menu to cure the problem. Post up a pic in your next post here so we can see the problem to help you further

I like grain, but i'm a film shooter.

If you cannot eliminate grain to your liking w/tips from these digital guys and gals on this thread, I've heard of a program called "Topaz Denoise" that eliminates grain (or at the least minimizes it from your photos).

Something to keep in mind as well, when you send your photos out for reproduction, they can use software in the printing process that greatly reduces excessive grain.
