increasing the photo size

I have a question about in creasing the size of a photo and not loosing it's clarity. I have a 7 year old daughter that I don't get to see very often. My ex takes pictures of our daughter with here cell phone's camera and emails them to me. Many of the photos are very small and several are distorted some. What affordable program should I use to increase the size of those photos and make them more clear?

take pictures yourself everytime you get her for visitation and that'll solve the problem...otherwise i have no idea how to fix them from a cell phone......especially if some are distorted ones.

There are plenty of free programs online...like photobucket.com and picasa.google.com...they'll help you do basic stuff like re-size your photos and brighten or get rid of red eye.

When she sends them to you from her cell, upload them to one of those sites.

I think you will only be able to increase the size just a little, not really much you can do about that with out getting the clarity all messed up

Microsoft Picture Manager is a hidden gem of a program that lets you resize pictures, its really easy to use. I used it to resize pictures down before putting them on the web. The trouble with increasing the size of digital photos is you begin to see chunky pixels if you increase the size too much, especially if its been taken with a low resolution camera. The best thing to do might be to take the original image to a digital photo booth like they have at Boots in the UK, they let you print out the pictures at the size you want, and will let you see what it looks like before you print it off.
