help, I really messed up good

Okay, I really messed up this time. Lol. I did a photo shoot, thought I downloaded the files, then formatted the card and shot again for another round. After the shoot was done I realized that I didn’t have the photos from the first shoot. Is there any way or amount of money that can bring those photos back?

I hate to say this...but it looks like you did mess up. I dont think you can get those pictures back without takin' them again! :pinch: I hope someone has a better answer! Good luck!

from what I understand, once you format a card...there is no way to get the photos' back.

you could download card recovery and try it, some of the images may be recoverable, its a long shot, in future never use that card until you are home and have a set to cd and a set to an external hard drive that way you will be safe, I carry several cards with enough to cover several photo shoots.

Hate to say this, but you're SOL. Were you to simply delete the first round of shots instead of fomatting, they'd still be recoverable, but formatting always wipes clean

Lexar has a program called image rescue, you can use this to get back at least some of the images. How many, depends on how many photos you taken after you formatted the card. I am sure there are other programs that will do this, I have used only Lexar's to do this.

Theres a lot of recovery software that could get most of them back. Do a quick google search.
