Editing Photos of Older Subjects

11 years 1 week ago #280361 by cordfish
I am learning portraiture, and to get experience I take photos for a networking group for the members to use as Linkedin profile photos. Most of the members are older, and after the last session some of them women were disappointed with their photos. I believe it had to do with that I didn't to any retouching to their faces. Does anyone have any advice on smoothing wrinkles subtly? I don't want to go overboard, but just minimize.

Thanks!

I think lighting is also critical here. You don't want light that is coming from too far to the side, which will accentuate skin irregularities. Use a fill flash up front, too, to compensate.

:agree: with Gary & Kelly. Good tips. You might also have a pre-shoot discussion w/subjects, particularly the women, as to what their desires are.
