Noise reduction software vs Photoshop

Does it make any sense to spend money on specialized noise reduction software when Photoshop has a denoise built in it?

In my own experience, if the photo is not heavily laden with Noise and one does not need to recover too much Shadow detail, the ACR's NR module is sufficient.

I've just started using the sharpening and noise reduction here

Most noiseware has a free tryout period, why not download a couple and decide for yourself... ;)
