Gimp vs Photoshop

Whats the motivation to move to Gimp.  Aside from the cost, are there any legit reasons?

The majority of the time people don't move from Photoshop to Gimp, they usually begin with Gimp because of cost. There are a couple of settings and effects in Gimp that aren't in Photoshop. The previous statement may not be true anymore because I haven't used Gimp in 3 or 4 years but it used to be that way.

:agree:  your better off and sticking with PS.  I've tried Gimp, just for the heck of it.  It's nice, but marginal differences IMO

If you're already with PS, moving to GIMP will disappoint. Roll with PS!

I'll stick with Photoshop, after all it took me nearly 4 years to get this understood to a minor degree.

I've tried Gimp and didn't care for it.  Perhaps I didn't give it a fair shot.  I only messed with it for a day and had enough.

Same here :)  If you've gotten photoshop figured out at all, moving to GIMP just doesn't make sense.

It's mainly cost.  Photoshop is superior.
