Post processing techniques for fashion photography

Remember when there wasn't digital? How did you guys use to manage post processing? All about chemistry? :cheer:

I'm looking to get professional results with a cheap DSLR. I think the key would be the post processing.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

There's such a huge range for fashion photography and post processing techniques. Do you have any examples of photographers or magazines that produce images close to what you're after? If not, looking into that can be great place to start.

How we 'post' process film is probably too much to explain in one post. It takes getting proper exposures and knowing how to compose good images, etc. In my experience color film is processed in labs and adjustments made on the machines as needed; with B&W film if you do it yourself you learn how to project a negative thru an enlarger and set the proper exposure times, etc. I don't know how fashion photography specifically was done, but I imagine they used pro labs.

A good photographer can get good photos with an inexpensive camera. I don't think you can rely on taking mediocre quality images and doing lots of processing to get professional looking results.
