What computer are you using for editing your photos?

I was using an older MacBook Air, but it just get's to hot and I really need to find something different.  I'm fishing for ideas, you mind sharing what computer you use?

And just one other question:  Do you feel the computer has enough power for editing or is your computer getting crazy hot or taking long time to do things?

I use a desktop system with an AMD FX-8320 processor, lots of RAM, and an R7 360 video card. Two monitors, colorimeter, and a tablet.

I don't care for editing on a laptop.

That said, if you drive your system hard and make it work, you're going to cause it to generate heat. This is not restricted to image editing, it's just how computers work. I often drive this system at 100% for a few hours when rendering video. Works great.

Perhaps Apple has decided to slow your computer down for you? :-D

I have a plain Dell Inspirion 3650 desktop tower /w Intel Core i5-6400 @ 2.7GHz, 8GB RAM, 931GB hard drive. Runs Win10 (64bit) just fine. Including hawgs like Capture One. However I have never tried video.

Hi Tim,
I use a 2016 MacBook Pro with plenty of RAM, connected to an Apple 27" display and a Wacom tablet.
The combination gives me laptop portability and desktop viewing size.
It works brilliantly for me, but ask yourself what your particular needs are and work backwards from there, rather than investing in a system and then trying to use it.
