Wolverine Titan Film to Digital Converter- problem with graining images

You are scanning a very small area of 1x1.25". Depending on the film, you should have no problem printing up to 5x7 prints.

Actually for these sort of converters, you have a good one.  I had a Hammacher Schlemmer last year, that I paid more for it, it only had 14MP sensor.   I had so many problems with that thing, and ended up reading an article here that spoke about top converters and I picked up the Titan which has larger 20mp sensor.  Works for me.    But like the Hammacher Schlemmer, output is JPEG only.  Which is fine by me.  Plus the display is larger on this one too.  Which made viewing easier.

Just my 2 cents.

Does that 6MP difference make much difference?

What made you go with the Hammacher Schlemmer to start with?

I had seen an add for them somewhere.  Then found out the company had been around since 1848.  To be honest, I had high expectations for it.  But the display was very fidgety and the battery they claim will last 400 conversions, never gave me more than 81 on a single charge.  Matter of fact, the battery they state will cover about 3 hours of using it.  Not mine, after going through 2 batteries, it was determined something inside of mine was creating a serious draw on the batteries as I was getting under 30 minutes.  Got me, returned it and picked up one of these Titans.

The one thing I wish the Titan would do is convert physical prints.  But not a huge deal as I just scan those with my scanner.

Ahhh, OK that makes sense.  Did they give you a full refund?

Am I understanding you correctly that max print size will be around a 5x7?

From a home printer yes. However, from a professional printer you should not have a problem printing a poster. Again, all dependent on the film being scanner.

Actually I have some older film that I wanted to convert with a couple shots of family that I would love to blow up.  What determines if film has the quality to be blown up?

We have a 20x30 canvas that was printed from a file that was converted from old film.  Looks nice on the canvas.
