Post Processing Challenge #2 - Week of October 28th, 2018

5 years 5 months ago #612037 by Alex
Each week 1-3 photos will be posted up, and you can post process it any way you think looks best. We We are moving to themes, and this week is 'Fall'.

So the rules are going to be very straight forward:

1. There are NO Rules!  Let that creative engine of yours do it's thing!  Then post your version back in this thread.
2. This isn't a competition, no prize, no bragging rights, just having good old fashion fun.
3.  See #1

If you want one of your photos to be considered for upcoming challenge, please PM me and I'll give you my personal email address to forward that too.

While it's not going to be a requirement, if you would, please share what you did to achieve the look you submitted.

This week we have a few shots. Pick 1 or all 3!

These 3 already look quite processed, would it not be better to post flat unprocessed images - just a thought!

The walkway, I brought down the exposure, added some clarity, toned down the bright spots.
Make: Canon
Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
Lens: EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM
ISO: 100
Aperture: f/14.0
Shutter speed: 4 s

On the bridge, I brought up the midtone contrast considerably to get some better definition in the sky and water.

Model: Canon EOS Rebel T6i
Lens: EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
ISO: 100
Aperture: f/20.0
Shutter speed: 1/13 sec

This outstanding picture was way too red for me. Changed the color balance, then did some tone mapping to give definition to the sky, the buildings and bridge. Then used a gradient filter to tone down the exposure in the upper right.

I went old school with mine.  Sharpened it up first, the applied scratched metal and rusted layers, applied yellow layer and dropped opacity on it.

I like it.
