Luminar 3 vs Lightroom?

1 year 3 months ago #620033 by Jakov Barnes
I've been seeing articles all over the place regarding new Luminar 3 and it's cataloging.  Most are for it, but all talk about performance issues, and how demanding this program is from tech resources needed in your computer.  My Mac isn't new  (2015), but has 16GB ram in it.

Would you happen to know if this older processor, but 16GB ram could swing this or will it be more frustrating than it's worth?

I'm still reviewing the reviews as well.  Hard to say from a performance standpoint.  Might be worth to try their trial.

Except that Luminar 3 isn't out yet. It's only on pre-order.

I like what I've been reading, but concerned about the computer resources it will take.  PetaPixel had article the good, the bad and the ugly that spoke not too favorably about the tech resources it used up and it was still slow.

I just got a link for their first update, but haven't had a chance to experiment. My guess is they'll be on it for performance improvements.
