A colleague and friend of mine is a pro videographer and
a teacher at the Joanneum university. He works mainly
with Final Cut but is well versed with Première (for tea-
ching purposes). His enthusiasm is clearly visible when he
talks a bout it.

I don't do videos myself so I have no personal experience
to share.

FCPX is for Mac users as it´s an Apple product, Premier is for both platforms.
Cost wise, both require an investment Premier being a subscription. There is another very good alternative and that´s DaVinci Resolve use by many professionals and it´s also free.. Resolve, has it´s own Raw codec now which is cross platform and free as opposed to Apples ProRes Raw.. Download trials of each to experience the leaning curve.. www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicraw

Final Cut Pro will be easier to get your arms around.  Adobe Premier is great for when you have more than one person working on the file.

However you know there are other programs out there that will be much more user forgiving for a beginner.

I use Vegas, but I'm about to start learning DaVinci Resolve.

I hated Premiere. And I don't use Macs.

This is so heavily debated.  Final Cut tends to be easier to pick up and and use.  Premier you spend more time getting started to categorize things.  Not as plug and play IMO as Final Cut Pro.

I started in Premier, and changes Final Cut recently made are 'interesting', would be a kind way of putting it.  However once you get use to these changes, does make the work flow a little easier.  I like the magnetic snap in Final Cut too.

Adobe Premier for me, just convenient integration with other Adobe products.

How does web version of Kizoa compare to either of these?

I use Premiere because that's what I know how to use. I've never really used Final Cut, but I do remember a while back a lot of videographers getting very angry at Apple for basically 'upgrading' to a new version that didn't support any of their existing projects. I don't know if that ever got resolved, but at the time, it seemed like they were basically abandoning the pro market for more of a consumer-focused business model, and if I remember rightly, the new version was significantly cheaper than the one it was replacing.

I have Kizoa, and it's a very cool software, especially the mobile version.  But it's nothing like Final Cut IMO.

Ha!  You took the words from my mouth.  I have recently download this on my phone . It's a blast and it's a must have app IMO.  Final Cut or Premier don't offer app like this.  So this comparison is like comparing an apple to orange.
