Video edit software for teen who is getting started in videography?

5 years 2 months ago #629448 by Vahrenkamp
My wife's brother son is turning 12 this weekend and his parents got him a Sony a7s (used) and my wife and I got him Sony 55mm f/1.8 and 35mm f/2.8.

We are looking for a good video editing software to give him too to finish up everything, can you suggest one for a teen to get started on?

Thank you for the help.

God bless.

iMovie is free on Mac

Kizoa has mobile app that is pretty cool and web version for heavier lifting.

There's a free version of DaVinci Resolve, and if he wants to get into filmmaking, that is perhaps his best choice.

Never heard of that one.  Just looked it up and surprised to see Black Magic.  Yeh these guys know cinema!  Might have to check that one out myself.  Regarding some of the others mentioned here, iMovie IMO is lame, Kizoa is fun, I have their web app only.  Final Cut is the better option IMO.
