Anyway to get blown out spots to look normal?

5 days 3 hours ago #635455 by Alfonso Camil
I've had some shots where the stuff in the front of my image is exposed the way I want, but then I'll have a bright spot, like a sky show up in the photo.  And it looks just white, is there anything that can be done about this?

I suspect you are shooting against daylight and or your
subject is in the shade thus, possibly, going over the DR
of your camera.

Could you post an example?

Try the Sky IA plugin that is built in Luminar.

If it is blown out, then there is no data there with which to work. Therefore, your options come down to "replace the sky in post". Or not worry about it. We were just reviewing an image the other night at our meetup and it had a large blown out section. Didn't matter. The image worked, and no one objected.

Not to say that your situation is the same, but I think it's worth weighing the issue carefully.
