That lady went from a mad woman to a mad porcelain woman!
I really don't did the artifacts it produces… just me!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

That's going to be almost as useless as the newest sharpening feature. And almost all of their examples go in the wrong direction IMNSHO, except for the orange corridor with the geishas. And his asseessment for the selfie of "greatly improving" the image is just incorrect. Not to mention his focus is off.

Of course, a lot of that is driven by taste and preference, and I get that. But I think better examples could have been found.

I think Gary's post and NS's posts nail two relative points. There are some trends in portraiture atm that drive me crazy, like hazy photos that look like they didn't account for some ambient lighting that screwed up their shot, or a branch that's extremely close to the lens so that it causes a have over a large portion of the photo, including the gorgeous model you took so much time picking, then you covered her face with this blurry stuff that's giving me a headache to focus on. lol Neon lights are still in, but that trend was HUGE last year. They were everywhere.

Portraiture editing is by far the most difficult I have done. It requires more understanding of the settings and how they are relative. I feel like this texturing tool is for those of us that just aren't there yet, or perhaps, this is the "work around" that will have trade offs for those that can't/don't want to. You and I will see the differences, but will the layperson? And if they do, will they care?

A good explanation of the texture and clarity sliders here.
