Will this print size be OK at 36" x 24 at decent resolution?

5300 x 3000 is your size.

300dpi is just a print resolution.
You will see the inch size in Photoshop (or other) better programs.

I had an 8MP photo printed to A1 size (23.4x33.1 in) that hung in a gallery. It is how the image is enlarged. If you do the trouble to go that big, just give it to the best printers possible. They will know how.

That's a 16MP image (give or take). It will print just fine at poster size.

Viewing distance matters: the farther away you are, the less detail you perceive, so the less detail is needed in the print. That resolution at that size comes to 150 DPI, which is just fine for something that large. You don't mention media, but canvas is even more forgiving.

You could also look at something like Gigapixel AI from Topaz Labs if you want to upres the image. I've also heard the Capture One does an excellent job at scaling up images.

Your most definitely going to have to enlarge it probably. Printing at 150 dpi gives you 35 × 20 inch, and 150 dpi isn't very high

You can try this  https://synchronet.me/ . Does something similar as Topaz. I had some trouble with Topaz since my graphics card was extremely outdated.
