How to remove fog from photos with Photoshop?

4 years 11 months ago #644376 by George F
I know you can add fog effects to a photo using Photoshop.  Can you remove fog or reduce it when it's in your photo and you don't want it?

I had to shoot a boat house for a client over the weekend and there was a little fog and I didn't have the time to be able to come back in the afternoon to reshoot.

Is there anyway to remove fog?

Thanks for the help guys and gals!

Aside from "fog is awesome; why would you want to remove it?" that's a job for dehaze. But I have no idea how to do that in Photoshop. Only in Lightroom.

I agree, however client doesn't want the fog in the shots.  I have Lightroom so I'll take a look at the Dehaze tool in there.

Thanks Gary!

Use Dehaze in Photoshop as well. It's in ACR and you can also use camera raw as a filter after conversion which is a very handy tool.

Well, duh. I never think about that because that's not my workflow. But yes, this.

Thanks, Randy, for pointing this out.
