Canon Printer Purple hue replaces deep blue/charcoal blacks

4 years 10 months ago #648028 by gm

I get I won't have an exact match, but any pointers on how to correct the  purplish tint that prints here? Looking around, it seems like it might be the ICC profile, but I can't find how to correct it or download new ones.

I'm using a canon pixma ix6820
Printing on Glossy paper - by both epson & HP

Any thoughts, questions, advice? It's immensely frustrating

Hi there.  I can appreciate your frustration.  Have you tried to update the drivers/software for the printer?

How old is the printer?

Have you recently changed out the inks?  If so might be worth to check that all ink is seated where it should be.  Or changed any settings?  You can adjust the color balance/tints in these things.

First thing to do is run a nozzle check to make sure one of the heads isn't clogged. Next thing is make sure you aren't double profiling.

What is double profiling?

Yes to all questions
+ drivers updated yesterday
+ new ink cartridges - seated solidly
+ printer from 2015/2016
+ nozzle check run, + deep cleaning. All checks out great, especially the test print page w/ single colors

I found this article in Canon's support, yet it's for windows & I'm on a mac. Also, I cannot find this feature in any software I have. Any ideas?

I was going to say this too.  Did you try calling Canon?
