Photoshop Elements for 11 year old new photographer?

1 month 2 weeks ago #656970 by MM Images
Would you say Photoshop Elements is age appropriate for a 11 year old boy?  My son is showing interest in photography, I think Photoshop will be a bit much, and I don't want to get turned off because it was too tough.   Hoping that Photoshop Elements would be something easier to pick up and use, even for  younger person?

Yes, it's pretty straight forward, and it builds into the Photoshop eco system for later entry.

G'day MM

Elements is an excellent photo editor and image management system - regardless of any "possible" upwards movement to the professional product

Make sure you download the version than matches your computer's operating system [32-bit or 64-bit ... mac or W$] and start from there

I suggest that one of the early things he does is visit 'Edit> Preferences' and select some of the things he likes the screen to display and the mouse / touch-pad to operate

Another beauty of Elements is the multiple menu options available - from 'auto' to 'beginner' to 'full'

Hope this helps
