Wacom tablets easy to use - plug and play?

2 months 3 weeks ago #667728 by Howard Swanson
Here's a question for all you tablet owners and it's a straight forward one.  How easy and out of the box are these things  to use?  I find that doing detailed work, can be a PITA with a mouse.  Thinking one of these tablets could be handy to have?

This is the one I'm looking at:

Unless you have another one better to look at?

Thank you!

I got another Wacom model and it is pretty much plug
and play but, when it comes to functions and preferen-
ces, a bit of experience will get you through these.

I do a lot of my editing on the go, and had a Wacom, but didn't use it much because I always left it home.  But will say, these things are pretty much user friendly.

Canon 7D, 15-85mm, 18-55mm, 70-200mm, 100mm Macro, Sigma 120-300mm, Speedlite 430EX II

Yup, almost plug and play. The important thing is using it to become comfortable. I'd suggest removing the mouse for a while to make you learn the tablet.
The one you linked to is a great one.

Why so serious?

Tablets are like back button focus. You either love it or hate it. I have one and never use it. I'm quicker with the mouse. A lot of folks can't live without them so it's a highly personal thing.
