When you are editing video are you using head phones?

LOL I keep missing sounds or mismatching audio levels.  I'm thinking it's time to invest in a good set of head phones when I'm editing videos.  I just sent a client their video and they told me that the music was way to loud.

I listened to it again and it was too loud.  Missed that one!

Which head phones are you using when editing video?

I don't. I use speakers and a quiet room.

If you're having problems with audio, that's a mixing problem, not a video problem. Suggest using other videos as reference points (i.e. find stuff on the interwebz) and see how yours compares.

Without more details (we can only guess that the referenced complaint is about relative volume levels), and perhaps which software you're using, not much more to offer. Apologies for not stopping after my first two words.

I'm not sure about headphones and their quality.  I would suggest viewing video on different devices as each one's speakers may offer a different sound quality.  This is what I have done when recording music.  I found listening to the audio in my car sounded nothing like when I was editing it.  Also, your ears can get "tired" after listening to the same thing over and over again.  Maybe desensitized.  I would also suggestion take a break after you edit to a point you are happy with.  Once you have spent some time away return and listen to it again with "fresh" ears.
