Software

Hello,

I have a rather random request.  I am looking for editing software that can "smart" crop multiple photos of similar objects down to the object of interest in an image.  At my work, we have to routinely take photos of boxes, and manually crop the images for reports, which is quite tedious for hundreds of photos.  The photos are all taken at the same distance and position relative to the camera, only the contents of the boxes change.  For our reports, however, only the box itself can be shown in the photo.

I have scoured the internet and can't find anything on my own, so I figured I'd check with photography professionals to see if anyone had recommendations.  Does anyone know if this technology exists as open-source software or other?

Thanks,
Sam

I suspect most converter will permit to copy a given crop
to multiple files in a jiffy!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

We presume from your description that the crop is not consistent from image to image.

But you've not provided any detail about your setup, what the images look like, how you're lighting and shooting your products, nor what software you're currently using.

Give certain constraints, I can envision one method in Photoshop using an action. But it would place some requirements on the shots, so not much point it discussing without more information.
