Looking for a crazy simple to use video editor?

I have zero experience with video, but would like to get into it.  Can you recommend a crazy simple to use video editor for someone who is starting out?

The crazy simple ones are the ones that come free with your OS. So Windows has a video editor built in (creatively named Video Editor). I don't know if Apple still have iMovie on their computers.

But at a basic level, even the expensive ones are a lot easier than they look. They all operate in the same way. You create a project with the frame rate and resolution you want, you import your media, you drag files to the preview window, mark the in and out points and then drag them onto the timeline. And then when you're happy with it, you click a button to render it and export. And that's it really. Obviously you can do all sorts of far more complex stuff than that, but that's enough to get started. And nowadays, you've got a Youtube video to teach you how to do anything, so if you get stuck, it's not such a big deal.

If you want to try something a bit more powerful and don't want to buy Adobe Premiere, Da Vinci Resolve is free to download. Also if you have an Adobe CC photography subscription, I think Premiere Rush is included in that, which is a cut down version of Premiere (I've not used it, so I can't vouch for it, but it presumably works as a good introduction to Premiere Pro). Another free option is Hit Film Express. But what you'll often find with the more complex software is that it's better optimized to get the best out of your hardware, so it's actually a more pleasant experience, and ends up being less frustrating, even if it has a slightly steeper learning curve.

Whatever you get, make sure the first function you learn is Ripple Delete.

If you want to learn using video editor and you are a beginner, I will recommend taking help from the youtube videos. Though you can also learn it from websites, but the best way is to practice from youtube like Andy videos.
