Colors / white balance off after opening RAW in Snapseed

Hi there,
I have a maddening problem editing my RAWs in Snapseed that, to my surprise, I was unable to find even a mentioning of online.

I do mostly landscape and underwater photography with a Sony A6000 and I shoot in its proprietary RAW format (ARW).

Whenever I view the photos in Google Photos or any gallery app, everything is fine. But as soon as I open one in Snapseed to edit, it starts off by apparently automatically "normalizing" white balance and curves, which is entirely not helpful, especially not in the underwater pics (a strong dominance of blue tones is normal and intended there). So far, I have not found a way to avoid or even reverse this initial editing and am stuck with messing around the controls until the image sort of looks like the original again, so that I can start editing from there.

I've attached screenshots that illustrate the problem:

This is what the photo looks like in the Gallery

This is the same photo immediately after loading it into Snapseed

Help would be greatly appreciated

Possibly the app has a few options of colour engines or
colour spaces… just an idea, I don't use that specific app.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to discover any settings of this kind in Snapseed.
What surprises me most is that although it's a very common editing app, I haven't found any mentioning of this problem online so far...
