Fimm & Editing, Question from aControl Freak

I have a safelight that uses a candle, I'll bring that along!

I really do have such a safelight, but haven't lit it, I consider it a collectible, not for functional use. But I was reading about someone doing some darkroom work during the recent power outages, and just saw an article about someone who after using digital for a good number of years started using film; the writer was discussing how it slowed him down and got him thinking more about his photos (if I find it I'll try to remember to post it).

I think shooting film does seem to get you thinking more about each shot, maybe because it doesn't seem as limitless as digital and it makes each frame of film more precious (can't think how else to describe it - if the material you're using seems more limited I guess it makes you not want to waste it). Film may not be practical or the best choice for all occasions/situations or types of photography. Darkroom work is more hands-on which I like, as I'm interested in other type of crafts too, but it's probably more suited to limited edition work than when you'd need a large number of prints.
