free Website Hosting question

I know many of you have your own site, maybe you pay, perhaps not. I am currently using webshots for free and it is what it is. My question is, is there a free site that I can use to host my shots and password protect them, preferably a site that will not compress the shots like so many sites such as Facebook.

I believe both Flickr and Photobucket will give you the option to make your images private via password. I'm unsure of the compression though; of the two I believe Flickr is the better.

Flickr "Pro" is about $25/year last I checked... lets you access your original upload and doesn't limit the number of photos like the free version. Might be another option for you. Depends on your intended use though, as for someone else to see the original file I think they will also have to have a "pro" account.

I guess I have to ask why would you want full size pictures on your web page? There are sites for storage. I store pics on Flickr for $25.00 a year

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

I'm not looking to upload full size, I am just looking around for other sites that will not compress as much as webshots. If your storing the pics on Flickr in the form of allowing people to view them also? or is it just for storing purposes? such as a backup.

I use Flickr for storage, of the 1000's+ pics 99% are set as private. It works out very well, only down fall is you can only download 1 at a time from the site, so you wouldn't restore a HD from there. I have every event picture I have taken stored there. I have other forms of back up to, but for $25.00 a year it is great..

Sounds like a great deal. I didn't realize flickr does storage, I thought they were only a photo sharing site. Thanks for sharing, learning something new everyday.
