GFX 50r High iso green cast in raw files, not in jpegs

3 years 9 months ago #689042 by Lucid_Landscape
Hello there!

Ive had this camera, the GFX 50r for about a year now and love it. Ive done countless long exposures (at low iso's) and had no issues. Last night I was shooting the milky way at iso 10,000. The images on the back of the camera were amazing. Imported into lightroom (mac, updates all current) and I get a weird green cast in the raw files, but not the jpegs

Thoughts?

Thanks!!

WB is the least critical of all parameters at SR if you're shooting
in any RAW format as there is no colour space in RAW files.

Inside your converter, you may tweak the WB and apply it to the
other files shot in the same condition.

The "better" colours of the jpeg images is coming from the proces-
sing of the said jpgs. Don't let it bother you, keep shooting RAWs.

I don't think that is the issue. I think there is a profile setting or something being applied by mistake to the raw images. The white balance should be the same between jpg and raw. Lightroom will pick up the white balance from the raw file which is the same as was used for jpg. Make sure you haven't accidently set a preset that's applied to every raw image upon import.

i've got a 50r too and if anything it's a little too magenta rather than green so this is an odd situation.

check your profiles in lightroom or your camera calibration settings in lightroom.  download faststone image viewer if you haven't already so you can see the raw thumbnails in windows and see if they have a color cast.

Hey Folks!

So I got my camera back from Fuji. Apparently there was a software issue that caused the issue of the green raw files at high iso's. They said they fixed it! Going to test it this evening just to make sure.

Thanks for all your input and help with this ssue

Happy shooting!

Raynor

I was shooting at 10,000 and 12,800 when I noticed the green color cast. Could have been an issue at lower iso's but I never tested anything between 1,600 and 9,000

Would love to get an update on this issue, as I've been experiencing the same problem on my GFX 50r.

So I got my camera back from Fuji. Apparently there was a software issue that caused the issue of the green raw files at high iso's. They said they fixed it! Ive done a bunch of test shots and there is no green cast anymore. I would recommend reaching out to fuji customer service and see what they can do for you. They were fantastic to work with. Is your 50r still under the 1 year warranty?

Glad to hear that they fixed it. My camera is still under the 1 year warranty so having read your post, I did send a message to Fuji customer support today. Hopefully they will get back to me soon.
