Because you didn't focus on the outhouse.

If your camera is using multi-point focus, it may be centering the focus on the fence. The way I got arounf this was to change the muti-point focus to single-point, and I use the central point.

Hope this helps..

Not sure what camera you use, but if you have mulitple focus points make sure that you are using the right one.

Nikon D200
Nikon 50mm f1.8D, Tokina 28-80 f2.8, Nikon 75-300, Sigma 18-200, Nikon SB-600, Nikon SB-25, Promaster triggers

:agree: The T3i has multiple focus points that can be selected via a button and wheel OR you could use the center point, focus on the OH and half depress the shutter, move to frame, then complete the shutter press.
The focus points in use will show red in your viewfinder.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Did you focus on building or fence

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Well I thought I was focusing on the outhouse but guess not!! My camera does have the multiple focus points. I think I figured out how to change the focus points to a single one and will try to take another picture of the outhouse and see if it works. Thanks for all your input it is greatly appreciated.

This afternoon I had the opportunity to shoot the outhouse again. Using the single focus point this time had better results!:woohoo: Thank you for all your input I wanted to share with you all the second attempt. Please let me know what you think.

Much better the second time around. Try cropping out the rocks on the right that are peeking into the frame.
