DOF Practice

Nothing really special about these shots, just had my camera out on a beautiful day & did some practice shots of Daffodils & wild grass along the side of the road.

Good job on the DoF. Couple of light flares but those can be fixed. After all, this was DoF practice and you aced that.

Now get ready to go shoot them in the snow on its way.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

It was soooooooo gorgeous out yesterday! I went out for 4 1/2 hours taking photos. I was doing nothing more than practicing what I have been learning from folks here. In as much as I would like to have all my shots come out nicer than nice, I am happy with my progression with the manual settings. I did notice the light flares, but I was focusing on the DOF, and trying a little composition practice. All in all, I think it was a good day.

Thanks for your insight & input. As always it is very appreciated.

Nope, doesn't look like you've mastered the concept of DOF at all...

Just kidding, I like the lens flare, esp. in #2. It gives it an artsy feel. Only thing I might suggest is try to use other focal points than just the one in the center (if your camera allows it, sorry, don't know what equip. you have). #1 and #2 seem to be really centered and could be even better (imo) if you'd placed them off center and used one of the focus points on one side. I know you weren't out practicing composition with these photos so sorry if it's unwanted advice.

:agree: Great DOP :judge:

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

ALL advice is wanted, I am new to this manual function, & have mastered NONE of it yet. I just a few months ago got a T2i, these were shot with the 18- 55mm lens. My camera does allow different focal points, but I don't always remember to use them. Centering is a problem I have a lot!

Good job. I really like the 3rd one. Fills the frame, good shot of the flower and I actually like the sun flare (I know many are not crazy about sun flares) but it gives the image life.

Thank you.

That flare sort of reminded me of a cartoon sparkle.
