You Got Twenty Minutes…

5 years 1 day ago #641330 by Nikon Shooter
Seeking revenge for what my students had to go through,
they allowed me 20 m. to setup and capture a product shot.
I did not even have time to clean the bottle or anything else.

G'day NS

Absolutely unfair and the result is terrible ,.... where in the background are those wonderful 'golden arches'? and where in the foreground are the rose petals and peanuts? :)

Otherwise the lighting is really beaut, the locale for the primary subject seems 'perfect' and the subject matter is beaut, clear and sharp.

Apart from getting paid, what more can you expect from an expert?

Unfair? Not to their view!
Terrible? Well… yes.

An hour in the second lesson on food photography, a courier was
at the door with a parcel: a little box from a client.

Another prototype of bottle for their distillate. Nothing was right
with the bottle: irregular walls, bottom and top, poor cap sealing,
a prototype really. Nevertheless, they are still at the presentation
of their product and they are too many chiefs and not enough…

I was an easy prey for my students' revenge. I thought of trying to
correct the irregularities using the 85 PC… but there was no time.

Thanks Phil! :)

You were caught off-guard in there but the result is rather amusing. good light and the shape of the bottle is well emphasized.

G'day mate

Australia's most famous bushranger [gangster in US terms] from 150 years ago, when on his way to the gallows, said to the warden 'such is life'.... a very poignant set of words that could be applied to many things, even photographing little bottles - and dealing with students :)

But the backlighting is really good. Well, I should have seen their faces when they saw the result of the shot.

They were, Eshan, very sport in recognising
that that I face their challenge rather well! :P

I would want to see the same reaction also. But this is a pretty good output!

As I got it going, Mike, the general idea and the lighting
were pretty quick but the problem solving on the way…
Let's I am glad my students are not my bosses!

So you set it all up impromptu? For how many minutes where you able to produce this shot?

I would have needed more than the given 20 m. I was
still working on the reflections of the chrome surface
of the front sticker when the "bell" rang!
