Question about cropping

2 years 3 weeks ago #735192 by slimer90
Hello,
I shoot images with 2 cameras: full-frame & micro four thirds. Sometimes an iPhone.
How do you deal with cropping in general ? Do you always keep the original size of an image?
When posting on social media (like Instagram) do you modify/crop your images so they fit?
Thanks for your feedback !

G'day mate

Regardless of camera type, my thoughts are "If you are cropping at all, then crop to enhance the viewer's enjoyment of the image". I will crop an image as needed - any image to 3 x 2 (6 x 4") or square or 16 x 9 or 3 x 1 for a pano

ps- I do not load images into any internet site that requires visitors to create an account so that they can view my images. This then excludes F-book & I-gram from my image libraries

Your post link is an ad for 9apps. Virus total website says, one vender says your site is a phishing site. This thread should be deleted IMHO

G'day Scotty

This post is a repeat from the above - and already answered above - and appears to be the first post from this person - and it includes an external link to another site -presumably- selling product to users.  Under the most basic of new-user-behaviour rules it should not be permitted to remain with the link included in the text

If the link is in error due to user naivety, and s/he is interested in "cropping" as the thread is all about - s/he can return and ask their question again without the external link.  If the originator is simply a spammer in disguise then it is probably best if we do not hear from them again

I see it's in a lower post. This is what me having lack of sleep will do.  Took care of it.
