I think I overdid it

I think I overdid the sharpening on this one of Wolf Creek Pass Colorado and now I can't undo it for some reason. Does it look cartoonish ?

Not too bad. The sky looks a little funky or funny depending how you type...

It has that 1950's postcard look. Which is kinda cool. :)

It still looks over sharpened.

When you get artifacting. If you're using photoshop...just use High Pass method. That way when you see the dupe layer, the grey will show artifacting before you apply it. I gotta get to bed but when I get a chance tomorrow I'll run through it all if somebody already didn't beat me to the punch.

If you have access to Adobe Lightroom 3 the auto filters and side bar tools can help a lot with the contrast and clarity which might help you with the sky would have to see the original unedited pic to give say for sure.

With your permission If you don't have access to the program I could try and clear the sky up for you?

You don't have a RAW of it?

Not to change the subject Rob, but the Original is gorgeous. It seems to me that if you just lightened the shadows, adjusted contrast, highlights, saturation, etc & maybe Clarify (if you have that on your program), you'd have yourself a Masterpiece. Just a thought, but if what I just mentioned isn't the look you're going for then I apologize.
